"Keeping Students Safe and Smart"605-586-4352Since 1999Our goal is to provide a safe and fun environment for all students in kindergarten through the sixth grade.Rutland families of students enrolled in Kindergarten through sixth grade who come to school before 8:00 am or stay later than 3:15 pm will need to be enrolled in the Rutland Out-of-School Time Programs.Fees will be charged for families using these services.Rutland Out-of-School Time Programs provide enrichment and academic activities in an effort to make student’s out-of-school time fun and safe.
History of Rutland OSTRutland School followed a nationwide need for student care by offering a safe place for students before and after the regular school day.OST have accommodated family needs since 1999.Facts about theRutland Out-of-School Time Programs:• All staff is required to complete background checks.• All staff is trained in the areas of education.• The facility meets all safety and fire regulations.• Year-end Family Tax Statements are available by request in January.• We have many fun and exciting “Boredom Buster” activities offered each day for students. Some of these include: Story time, music, dance, computers, arts and crafts, games, cards, field trips, and more.• “Homework Helpers” encourage students to complete assignments.• Mentors must agree to sign in and out of the program and serve to assist elementary students or work on homework.• Mentors serve as volunteers and gain valuable skills by working with fellow students.
